TpT Tuesday (and by Tuesday I mean Thursday!)

It's been a busy week!  I taught a professional development class on Tuesday, so I was kind of thrown off schedule from normal and realized that I'd never finished up this post from Tuesday.  I'm keeping it very short and sweet as a result!

I've got a few more items in the works, but I think I'll be ready to soon create some bundles for my polka dot items and my gray chevron items!  I'm excited to have enough created to get to that point.  I'm loving both "collections" so far.  Making all of this is going to make it hard to decide on my own themes for the upcoming school year!

TpT Tuesday: On Social Networking

Does anyone else get slightly overwhelmed with all of the social networking opportunities there are out there?!?  I Facebook, blog, Pinterest, and Instagram and sometime feel like I can't keep up with it all!  I also try to separate my personal world from some of my networkings, but sometimes I struggle with figuring out that line.

For example, I've got a Facebook page for my TpT store.  I have hundreds of Facebook friends, many of which are teachers, but in trying to get followers for my store page I don't want to blast my friends with posts about school stuff and products that many of them don't care about.

I know that Instagram can be a great tool for networking, but a few months ago I decided to go private on there because kids from my school had figured out how to find teachers on there...  And let's face it, we don't want the kids seeing EVERYTHING we do on the weekends.

I started a separate Pinterest account for my TpT stuff, but I've found I already have a HUGE following on my original ("personal") account, so why bother with switching back and forth when I already have tons of people following me already?  If they don't want to see my other pins, they don't have to follow those boards, right?

I'm just rambling...  If any of you have any good suggestions for social networking, I'd love to get your input.  I don't want to overdo it, but I also don't want to underdo it either.  I don't want to overwhelm my friends and family, but I do want to use them as a tool to get more followers.

I didn't do a whole lot of new products this week, but I did manage to get three new items up!

Finally, I would LOVE if you would go "like" me on Facebook.  I'm thinking once I reach 100 followers on there I'll do a sale or do a giveaway.  Last week I asked for an idea for a new theme for materials and whoever gave me the first theme gets all of my creations for free...  So, gray chevron and bright colors it is!  I'm hoping to do fun little things like that, so you never know what may happen!

Happy Tuesday!

TpT Tuesday

I hope you're having a terrific Tuesday!

It's amazing how for it being summer I have been super busy over the past few days...  My weekends have been packed with weddings, showers, and birthday parties, so it's been a fun start to the summer.

I had a lot of extra time during my weekdays last week since my brother was away at camp, so I put in a lot of time on some new Teacher Pay Teachers products.  I don't know about any of you who are also on there, but it's sometimes a little overwhelming to see all of the amazing people on there and their fabulous and creative products.  I'm starting off slow and with some basics for the classroom and we'll just see how it goes from there!

I have been making some classroom items in a cute bright pink, green, and blue polka dot design.  I'm still working on making more to go with this theme, but here's what I've got so far...

TpT Tuesday

One of my goals for the summer is to really get my Teachers Pay Teachers store rolling with new products.  This totally took a backseat to the absolute craziness that was the second semester of the school year, but now that summer is here I'm motivated again to get things up and going.

I don't want to blast you all with products all the time since I know there are quite a few of you out there that aren't teachers and could care less about products for the classroom.  So, I'm going to try to do a TpT Tuesday post each week to feature new things I've posted in my store.  We'll see how this goes, but for right now that's my plan!

Click here to download your signs for FREE!

If you like FREE stuff, check out these cute photo signs for the first, 100th, and last day of school!  Even if you're not a teacher, these are cute for you photo crazy parents out there.  Click the picture above to download it!

I've also created signs in other color schemes that also include grade level specific signs that you can find
here and here.

I had some similar signs for my students this year and I took their pictures on the first day of school and then sent the photos home with their final report cards.  It was fun to see how much they'd changed and grown since the beginning of the year!

I'm trying to create some items theme items as well, so here's one that will (hopefully) be the first of many in this color scheme and theme...

Click here for the binder covers pack!

I'm all about starting off the year organized, so I'm trying to make things that are not only cute, but will keep things in order!

Have a great Tuesday!

Getting Started on Teachers Pay Teachers

Back in January I took a workshop from our awesome and talented music teacher who had become a total TpT rock star.  She's been at it for just about a year now and has made a TON of extra income from this venture.  She spends a lot of time creating products and has a lot of really great wisdom to share.  TpT has been something I've wanted to get into for a while now, but I just didn't know where to start.  After that workshop, I totally had the groundwork laid.  Now, I just need to really get this venture up and running!

I was super excited about working on TpT products right after the workshop, but I soon lost steam.  I've been very overwhelmed and slightly unmotivated with school stuff recently and so thinking about school stuff when I don't have to has been hard.  I've also found myself overwhelmed by the awesomeness of other Tpt'ers and how amazing their products are.  As much as I want this to be a success, I don't want to live, breathe, and eat TpT.

So, I want to get some feedback and advice from those of you who have products on TpT (or Teacher's Notebook).  Please comment below with your own insights and advice!

How much time do you spend per day / per week on creating projects (particularly during the school year)?  How do you balance this with your regular school duties and workload?

How do you decide what products to create?  Do you make things exclusively that you will use in your own classroom or do you make other resources as well?

I'd really love to hear the feedback of more people.  I'm part of a Facebook group, but most of us are just starting out.  I figured I'd take to the blogging world since I know some of you are seasoned pros!

My First Teachers Pay Teachers Product!

Happy Saturday!

I hope you all have been doing well since returning to school / work from the holidays!  I feel like this time of year is just jam-packed full of events and I hardly have time to even breathe!

This past week I attending a workshop taught by my school's music teacher.  She's become to pro on Teachers Pay Teachers in the past year and shared with us her expertise on creating products and selling on TpT.  I've been interested in getting started on there for several months, but wasn't quite sure how to get things rolling.  This class was just what I needed!  She gave us all of the tools I needed to get started and I'm super excited about this new adventure!

If you're on TpT, you can follow my store Third Grade Rock Star!

I've also started a new Pinterest that will be more focused on teaching stuff.  I'm going to try to post my creations on that page as well as on my own personal Pinterest.

I plan on getting back to regular blog posts in the coming weeks and months.  Rest assured for those of you who aren't teachers it won't all be products and stuff like that...  I'll still be posting about all of my other life loves like clothes, makeup, shopping, decorating, and my other random thoughts!
