Thursday Confessions

I'm a little late in the day posting this, but better late than never!

Funny Workplace Ecard: No one has strong work ethics? This generation grew up watching Full House where only one of three adults worked.
Image via someecards.com
  • I've watched a ridiculous amount of "Full House" and "Melrose Place" in the past week.  ABC Family brought back their mid-day 2 hour block of "Full House" reruns this week and so, of course, I have to watch it.  I'm about a season and a half into "Melrose Place" on Netflix and I am totally addicted!  My DVR has actually been a bit neglected in the past week as a result.
  • I feel like I dress like a 12 year old at times...  And I'm okay with that.  Last week I bought hot pink Vans shoes.  I'd seen them on Pinterest and thought they were adorable, so I snatched them up when I actually found them in store.  The next day, I saw a girl (early middle school age) wearing those shoes!  And then, I posted a pic to Instagram and got comments from a 14 year old on how cool they are!  Hey, at least I'm one of the cool kids.
  • I get in a very (verbally) foul mood whenever I go into Wal-Mart.  I avoid going to Wal-Mart at all costs...  Particularly the one by my house.  It's actually in a nice area, but it seems to attract everyone that belongs on People Of Wal-Mart.  I know, it sounds horrible of me to say that.  I instantly get in a bad mood the minute I step in that place and suddenly have no filter to what comes out of my mouth regarding how much I hate that place.
Funny Somewhat Topical Ecard: Why yes, Wal-Mart, I'd love to wait in line for 30 minutes behind a pajama-clad person who lacks deodorant and a bra. It's so nice of you to have 2 whole registers open.

Thursday Confessions

It's that time again...  How about some Thursday confessions?!?

  • I hate cheesecake.  I find it to be one of the nastiest things on this earth.  I love cream cheese.  I love cake.  I don't love them together.  I do love the Cheesecake Factory, but I get the giant layered chocolate cake or carrot cake when I go there.
  • I was a HUGE Hanson fan back in middle school.  "MMMBop" came out towards the end of my 6th grade year and I was instantly a fan.  Their Middle of Nowhere CD was pretty much the only thing I listened to for the next year and half.  I kept a video in the VCR so that I could record them whenever they were on TV, but unfortunately one day it got taped over.  Thank God for You Tube now!
  • I can't see most of my closet floor.  Although I have a pretty good sized walk-in closet, shelving and rod situation isn't a good use of space.  I had a rolling rack that housed the majority of my cold weather tops and apparently it wasn't meant to have 1,000 lbs. of clothing on it and it broke.  The result is a GIANT pile on the floor.  It's one of my goals before school starts again to get that situation under control because I'm very OCD about my closet organization.

Thursday Confessions

How 'bout we do some confessions around here!?!  Sounds like a fun way to start a Thursday!

  • I don't think I was actually on time to school more than 5 or 10 times second semester of this past school year.  My brother transferred to my school at that time so picking him up and changing my driving route added about 15 minutes to my commute.  But, most of the time I only made it out the door 7 or 8 minutes earlier than normal.  You do the math.  Thankfully I have my morning routine once I get to school down to about 1 minute and I'm ready for the kids to come in.  I'm really not one of those people that's super late to everything, but getting across town with a 5th grader in tow just wasn't working in my favor.  I resolve to be better about getting there on time this coming school year, which should be easy because I'll be back to my regular morning routine and commute.
  • I'm totally "that girl" who puts on makeup and does my hair to go to the gym.  Let me clarify that we're not talking a full done up face, but believe me, you don't want to see me just roll outta bed and go to the gym.  Plus, everyone and their mom's dog goes to my gym and without fail I see someone I know.  I'd rather be "that girl who wears makeup to the gym" than "that girl who looks so terrifying that people run away screaming."
  • I estimate I've seen "Back to the Future" at least 200 times.  It's been my favorite movie since I was in kindergarten.  I actually went through a period of time where I watched it everyday before I went to school in the afternoon.  If we say, on average, I watch it (on TV, VHS, DVD, BluRay...) once every month and a half for 23 years that adds up to just over 200.  Fact:  I never saw any of the 3 movies in the theater...  I was only 5 months old when the first one was released in theaters.

I found this video on You Tube a while back...  They're called "Rejected Pitches" and they're super funny!  This one is for Back to the Future!

Happy Thursday!

Thursday Confessions: Celebrity Crush

I'm slowly but surely getting back into my blogging groove, so I figured I'd have a little fun and post some confessions today.  In celebration of the release of season 4 of "Arrested Development" I thought I would share some confessions about my biggest celebrity crush...  JASON BATEMAN!!!

Let's get straight into these confessions...

  • I fell in love with Jason shortly after watching the movie "Juno."  Yes, that's right...  I started liking him after seeing him play a complete creepster who was hitting on a pregnant teenager.  I don't know what this says about the guys I am attracted to.  Rest assured, I try to stay away creepy men in real life.  (For reference, my favorite movies of his are "The Switch" and "Horrible Bosses.")
  • I spent the better part of several days (a few years ago) watching countless You Tube videos that come up under the "Jason Bateman" search.  What can I say?  It was summer vacation and I was bored...  And maybe in love.  Let me just say there's a lot of 80's goodness waiting to be watched.
  • I may have recently dedicated an entire Pinterest board to Jason.  The title of the board may also happen to be "Marry me!"  If you're an AD fan, you know the reference.
  • I seriously considered asking my local Gap store for the promo posters that featured Jason in their Christmas campaign a few years ago.  I then decided that I probably don't have a place in my home that would be quite right for featuring 5 foot tall poster of him.
Okay, I'll stop there before you think I'm super crazy.  Seriously, though, Jason is wonderful and if you've never watched "Arrested Development" you need to.  (Although it's totally one of those shows you have to watch in order...  You can't really just jump into the new season online.  In fact, if you do that, you'll probably be beyond confused!)

Happy Thursday!  It's almost the weekend!

(Late Night) Thursday Confessions

I feel like the past week or so has been super busy and super tiring for no good reason at all.  I've had a few extra meetings and our third grade music program, but other than that nothing all that crazy.  Maybe it's just this time of year?  I'm soooo in need of summer break!

So, since I've been having a little blog writer's block lately, I thought I'd share a few more Thursday confessions.

  • I love eating slightly under-cooked and over-milked instant oatmeal.  It's like warm cereal without being too mushy.  Oh so delightful!  I'm going through a phase right now and it's been my evening dessert lately.
  • After this school year I could write a 1,000 page book of dumb stuff (for lack of a better word) kids say.  I feel like I have more kids than usual this year that have no common sense whatsoever.  It's kind of to a point that it's so sad it's funny.
  • I really like the show "Dance Moms."  Yes, Abby screams at children and the mom are all crazy, but it's a total guilty pleasure.
  • I "dress up" 3 out of 5 days at work each week and I totally wore my denim jacket on all 3 of those days this week.  I didn't realize that until today, but I wore it 2 days with dresses and 1 day with a button-down and cords.  It might be because this crazy Kansas weather has been really hard to dress for.  This week has been completely less than spring-like!
  • I am in love with Jason Bateman.  I really started crushing on him about 5 years ago and may have once spent a weekend watching TV shows and You Tube clips featuring him.  I am beyond excited for the new episodes of "Arrested Development" that are coming out next month!

Jason teaches Elmo about the word "comfort."  Jason would be allowed to comfort me anytime! ; )

I hope you have a great Friday!

Thursday Confessions

I thought I'd do another random post today with some Thursday confessions!

  • I could probably be perfectly content only watching reruns of "Full House" and "Friends."  Some evenings I just watch blocks of those on Nick@Nite and take an hour break in the middle when they show "The Nanny."
Tom Hanks performs some slam poetry about "Full House"...  This is hilarious!
  • Speaking of TV...  I hate HATE hate the show "Happy Days."  I can't even pinpoint why I hate it so much, but it takes about 2 seconds of the theme song for me change the channel.
  • Some many nights my definition of "cooking" is making mac and cheese or a box of Rice-a-Roni.  Just simply standing over the stove and not popping something into the microwave is enough to count.
  • I really don't like Taylor Swift.  I think all of her songs sound the same and pretty much the only thing I feel like she sings about is another breakup.  Even my 11 year old brother made this observation about her much (and he made that statement without me saying anything first)!  She is the common denominator in all of those failed relationships.
  • I can't sleep unless my closet door and bedroom door are closed.  I can nap on my couch just fine, but if I'm in my bedroom, even during the day, those have to be shut.  It's another one of my weird OCD things.

Thursday Confessions

I had a 4 day weekend this past weekend, but I feel like the last 2 days at school have been crazy.  I'm getting into that mode where I want to get everything done for this school year and start doing a little planning for next year.  This time of year seems to be filled with meetings, special events, and other things that keep me running!

I have some other posts in the works, but I kind of ran into writer's block and decided a little randomness was in order for this lovely Thursday.  So, how about a few confessions (and random thoughts)?

  • I've recently become a fan of "Grumpy Cat."  I don't even really like cats, but I think this little kitty is adorable in a Stewie Griffin sort of way.
  • I have total OCD when it comes to brand name athletic wear.  This is one of the many issues that I have them stemmed from my middle school years.  I recently hopped on the WSU Shocker bandwagon and bought a t-shirt to support the home team.  After 45 minutes of indecisive t-shirt shopping (my mom said the cute neon pink tee was sacrilegious) I settled on a black Adidas tee.  The only problem!?!  I can't wear my Nike shoes or sandals with it!
  • I knew exactly who Shain Gandee was when news of his death broke out this week.  And yes, I did watch every episode of "Buckwild" on MTV.  RIP Redneck MacGyver!
  • I ate tuna, ranch dressing, and Wheat Thins for dinner last night.  I got home late and was too lazy to make real food, but have also been trying not to get fast food anymore.  It was delightful!
  • I read last week one blogger talking about how embarrassing it is that she owned 50 cardigans...  So, naturally, I went to my closet and counted mine.  Are you ready for this?  I have 75!  Seventy-freakin-five!!!  I could wear a different cardi everyday from now until June 18th.  I need some sort of rehab for cardigan addiction.

Do you have any confessions to share today?

Happy Thursday!
