I've written a few times about wanting the Urban Decay Naked 2 eye shadow palette and how I finally got it during the Ulta Friends & Family sale a few months ago. (After redeeming points and the 20% off I ended up getting the palette for about $30, regularly $50!) Since I'd talked about it so much in my wish list posts, I decided I may as well do a quick review and tell you how I like it.
(If you're a big beauty blog or subscribe to the beauty gurus on You Tube, this is another post like a lot of others, but I still wanted to do my own review.)
My overall review of Naked 2 is very good. I'd looked at a few similar neutral palettes, but decided this one was the best for me and my skin tone. I really like the range in colors and how I can vary my look a bit, but still stay very neutral.
Is Naked 2 the only eye shadow I wear now?
Nope... But I do wear it pretty often. I'd say at this point I reach for my Naked 2 palette about 50% of the time. I've got few other neutrals I'm finishing up and will probably continue to reach for this one more and more.
How is the quality of these eye shadows?

If you're looking for good neutrals, yes! There are some very similar shadow palettes out there if you aren't looking to spend $50, but if you're patient and work the system like me, you don't have to spend that much on it. The quality of the shadows is very good and you can create a lot of looks with it.

Do I want to get the original Naked palette?
Not really... There's nothing against the original, but I just can't see justifying $50 on the first Naked palette. Maybe on another good sale, but it's not on my must-buy list at the moment. I feel like one or the other is fine, but I personally don't see a need for both.
Will I take this with me when I travel?
I can say that this is definitely going to be the eye shadow that goes with me when I go on vacation. It's a great, versatile go-with-anything palette, which is perfect for travel.
Is it worth $50?
One of my biggest rules in shopping is that I don't pay full price. Very rarely am I willing to pay full price for something. Like I said, I spent about $30 on mine, which may be the most I've spent on a makeup item. It's hard to say if I'd drop the full $50 on this, but I do think you get a great variety and selection for the price. When you consider that a single UD eye shadow runs $18, this is a steal. It's a little bit of an investment, but it's a quality palette that has a lot of offer.
You can buy Naked 2 from Ulta, Sephora, and urbandecay.com. (I'm sure there are other places, but those are the main 3 I know of.) While it's not super common for those stores / websites to run sales on this kind of item, I've seen all 3 run discounts or sales in the past few months.

Oooh. I LURVE those colors! Definitely wouldn't pay $50, but $30--that's amazing! I actually love Urban Decay's shadows. I currently have 2 that I use almost daily, and they are super and last long.

If you haven't already, sign up for the Ulta's rewards program and Sephora's Beauty Insider program. Both run discounts on their high-end products at least two or three times a year. I ended up racking up about $17 in rewards at Ulta because they had a 4x points weekend, which was conveniently when I went in to get my mom a Philosophy gift set for her birthday!
