Currently ~ July!

I don't think I've done a Currently post in about a year, but I decided to join in on the fun this month!  These are such fun posts and a neat way to find awesome new bloggers!

I feel like this month is going to go by way too fast...  Next week I start my two week math course which really only leaves another couple weeks before we start inservices.  My teacher friend and I had a conversation about how July is kind of a depressing month.  June is all happy and care free and then July sneaks up on you and you have to start thinking about reality again.  

I'm also needing to get myself in school mode. I've been doing a lot for my Teachers Pay Teachers store, which feels like I'm doing school stuff, but it's really not what I need to be doing to prep for next year.  I really don't feel like I have a ton to do going into next year, but there are some small things I could start knocking off the to do list.

Currently ~ December!!!

It's really kind of hard to believe that it's already December.  I feel like in some ways this year has dragged on, but in other ways it's really flown by.  I think maybe it doesn't feel like December because it literally  doesn't feel like December...  We haven't had hardly any cold weather and I have yet to have to bust out my big puffy winter coat!  I do love sweater weather that doesn't require a coat, but when people are able to go out in shorts and flip flops it's just plain weird.

Anyway, before I ramble on too much about the weather (*yawn*) I should get to the point of this post...

Happy Labor Day (& September Currently!)

Greetings and happy Labor Day to everyone!  I hope you're enjoying the day off!  Unfortunately I've spent my long weekend battling an allergy cold, but at least I've had the down time and I didn't really have any plans other than just chill.

It's that time again... August Currently!

I'm down to my last couple days before inservices.  I've been making a few last minute appointments and finishing up back to school shopping today!  I don't really have any plans for the weekend, so it'll be nice to have some time to relax.  I'm feeling pretty good about everything I've accomplished right now and aren't too terribly stressed out about starting school quite yet.  I feel pretty ahead of the game, so my focus right now is to catch up on things at home and work on little school tasks as they come.

July Currently

It's that time again!  

Currently!

Here's a little peek into what's going on with me right now!

July is going to be a super busy month for me...  This week is pretty much my only week of down time.  Next week I begin a two week course on Common Core math that will be all day, Monday through Friday! I'm pretty sure that will wear me out!  My old roommate's wedding is also coming up in the middle of that, so I'll be busy with helping with the wedding and hanging out with friends that are coming into town!  I really wish the wedding festivities and my class didn't overlap, but that's just the way things happened to workout!  After that I'll have a little down time (and hopefully fit in a little trip out of town) before school starts up again!  Summer seems to be flying by!  I can't believe it's already July!

Currently-- June!

I've had a lot of fun doing the Currently posts, so here's another one for the month of June!  I know a lot of people are getting into the travel mindset with summer break, but traveling is pretty much the last thing on my mind right now.  I'm hoping to make a small road trip later this summer and maybe another one or two in the fall, but other than that, I probably won't be going on any large vacations for quite some time.  Oh well!  I've been on more trips than normal (for me) in the last few years, so I guess it's time for me to maybe take a little break and put my money elsewhere.

For my Wish, Went, Want chose Boston, NYC, and Washington.  I have good friends that live in Boston and Washington and I would absolutely love to go visit them sometime soon.  I've only been to the east coast once when I went to NY last year and I've never been west of Colorado, so both are areas that would be fairly new to me!

Currently... MAY!!!

Oh' Boy 4th Grade is hosting her monthly CURRENTLY linky party for the month of May!  Last month was my first month to participate, but I liked it and thought it was a fun way to share my blog and discover some new ones! 

 May has really snuck up on me...  It seems like ever since we finished up with assessments time has really flown by!  My student teacher had her last official day with us today, but she'll be joining us a few more time this year for some special events.  It was a lot of fun having her in our classroom this semester and I know we'll all really miss her!  She's still looking for a job, but I told her that if she ends up subbing next year we'll all be sure to keep her very busy with sub jobs!  (We've been having a horrible time lately with subs dropping jobs at the last minute and leaving us without anyone!  Ugh!  I wish we had more than just a small handful of good, reliable subs.)

Currently... And the weekend.

I've been seeing the monthly "Currently" posts around for a few months now and finally decided to do my own and link up!  Yes, another linky!  You know I'm getting obsessed!

My weekend has been pretty chill so far...  I ended up leaving work early on Friday because I wasn't feeling well.  You know those times when you're sick, but not completely sick?  It was one of those times.  I probably wouldn't have left had my student teacher not been there and was doing most of the teaching anyway.  

Yesterday I was feeling pretty much fine, so after chillin' in the morning my roommate and I decided to check out a new shop that just opened.  It's a really cute place started by a bunch of girls around my age and a little bit older.  They each specialize in things like jewelry making, vintage decor, refinishing furniture, paper goods, fabric goods, etc.  It's sooooo freakin' cute there!  One of the girls I grew up with at church finds awesome vintage accessories and decor items and is selling them there, so it's super fun to support friends and other local girls.  It totally makes me want to get my own creative juices flowing a bit more!  

I was really good and stuck to my small budget and only bought two items...  A chicken wire frame thingy for hanging earrings (which my end up migrating to be a memo board with mini clothes pins eventually) and some super cute chalkboard stickers  (which I envision mounted on cute scrapbook paper and used as labels for my baskets).  

I came home and decided it was time to revamp the space above my vanity / desk / TV stand thing.  I'd been wanting to do this for a while now so I decided now was finally the time!  Here's the finished product:

This is totally Pinterest-inspired!  It's nothing spectacular or that took tons of time to create, but I do really like this little update to the space.  I posted this to Facebook and got a bunch of comments from friends and family, so I guess others think it looks good too!  The only thing I really want now is a new flat-screen TV and not my big old bulky TV from college.  (This is one of those instances when need overrides want...  A TV keeps getting pushed lower and lower on the priority list!)

I promise I'll start posting more school and teaching related things soon.  I guess since I'm not actually doing as much teaching these days it hasn't been on my mind quite as much as other things!  I've got a few new posts brewing, though, so be looking for those soon!
